Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), as the lead agency on ageing issues, drives the national effort to enable successful ageing for all Singaporeans. MCYS works in partnership with other ministries and agencies, via the Ministerial Committee on Ageing to address key concerns on the elderly such as social integration, financial security, employment, healthcare and intergenerational cohesion.

Successful Ageing in Singapore

(Desired Outcomes)
Arrow Bullet At the individual level
Our senior citizens should age with respect and dignity as integral members of our society. In particular, we want them to be healthy, secure and active.

Arrow Bullet At the family level
We want to see strong and caring families where members care and support each other.

Arrow Bullet At the community level
We want a strong network of community services to support the family in its care of the young and old.

Arrow Bullet At the national level
We want to develop a high level of preparedness, maintain strong intergenerational cohesion, and maximise the opportunities of an ageing population.
