| People with disabilities have needs which are both similar and different from those of other able-bodied persons. Some can lead normal lives with some adjustments, while others need a higher level of care and assistance. The care and welfare of people with disabilities is everyone's concern. The family, the community and the Government each has a role in helping and integrating them into the community. |

| MCYS works closely with the National Council of Social Service, Centre of Enabled Living and the voluntary welfare organisations to promote services and programmes for people with disabilities, including day activity centres; sheltered workshops; hostels; homes as well as training and job placement services. |
