Speaking at the Family Life Champions (FLC) Award Ceremony 2009 on 27 Jun, MOS (CYS)Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon said that the FLC initiative has made tremendous progress since its inception in 2005 and the number of programmes initiated or facilitated by FLCs has increased form 200 in 2005 to 600 in 2008. |

Standard Chartered Bank FIH Men's Junior World Cup 2009
The opening ceremony, attended by Min (CYS) who was the guest-of-honour, was held at Singapore's brand new purpose-built Sengkang Stadium on Friday 5 June. This was first time that the International Hockey Federation-sanctioned tournament was co-hosted by two countries, setting a first for Singapore and Malaysia. . |

The Bully-Free Forum 2009
MOS (CYS) Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon said that parents and teachers play a crucial role in helping children who were bullied and in ensuring that children do not become bullies. She spoke at the Bully-Free Forum on 6 Jun where it was revealed that 20% of primary school children and 25% of secondary school children get bullied, and that measures were being taken to make schools free of bullying. |

National FSC Helpline to merge with ComCare Call (1800 222 0000) - 1 April 2009 The National Family Service Centres (FSCs) Helpline (1800 838 0100) will be terminated with effect from Wed, 1 Apr 2009. Callers who require assistance related to FSCs should contact executives from Comcare Call (1800 222 0000). Since Feb 2009, callers to the FSC Helpline have been informed of this and have been automatically transferred to ComCare Call. |

Singapore to Host Inaugural Youth Olympic Games in 2010

Community Heritage Grant Scheme Extended
The Community Heritage Grant Scheme, a grant set aside by the government to support Community Heritage Organisations (CHOs) in the preservation of our heritage and culture has been extended.
