| Women's Workgroup |
6 women workgroups comprising of women from the people, private and public sectors were formed to look into issues which were pertinent to women in Singapore. The formation of the workgroups was a result of year-long dialogue sessions with women's groups, which was led by MCYS' Minister of State Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon. The six areas of concern identified were:
- Leadership & Mentoring
- Reskilling (IT/Financial Literacy)
- Micro and Social Enterprise
- Women & Health
- Work Family Harmony
- Volunteerism & Philanthropy
An initiative spearheaded by the Women's Desk at MCYS, the formation of the six workgroups harnesses multi-agencies' efforts in reviewing women's issues in a holistic and concerted manner. The 6 workgroups came up with a report detailing their various recommendations. Included in this report was the development of a Women's Register, a database of successful women from all walks of life. The Women's Register is aimed at enabling women to network, serve, and share their knowledge to serve the community and society at large.
