The Registry of Mutual Benefit Organisations is responsible for the administration of the Mutual Benefit Organisations Act (Cap 191) and the Mutual Benefit Organisations Rules. Its primary objective is to protect the interests of members of Mutual Benefit Organisations by regulating and controlling the activities of the organisations.
Unique Entity Number
From 1 January 2009, the Unique Entity Number or UEN will be the standard identification number of all entities that are registered in Singapore, including mutual benefit organisations. The UEN can be used to interact with various government agencies. For more information on the UEN, please click here.

Definition
Mutual Benefit Organisations consist of members who are predominantly from the older generation, mainly for the purpose of providing relief, on a mutual help basis, to meet funeral expenses upon death. Hence, death benefit schemesare the principal welfare schemes of all Mutual Benefit Organisations.
