| SHINE: Festival to celebrate youth |
 |
SHINE is a festival for youth to showcase the diverse talents and skills of young Singaporeans, highlight their contributions to the community and profile role models for our youth. Informal groups of friends, youth organisations, community groups -all are encouraged to organise activities and events for other youth as part of the Shine festival. MCYS will provide financial and logistic support to facilitate this opportunity for profiling and celebrating youth.
If you are interested in participating or volunteering as part of the SHINE Festival, please visit the SHINE website at www.shine.youth.sg. |

| YOUTH.SG: Youth Portal |
 |
| Youth.SG is an online portal set up to meet the needs of youth interested in community participation. The portal serves as a first stop to all youth-related resources in Singapore, as well as selected relevant online youth-related resources overseas. The portal also provides online space for youth to share and exchange ideas and acts as a "virtual" space to complement and support youth-led projects, events and lifestyle. |

A 1.2 hectare land space next to Orchard Cineleisure has been set aside as an iconic community space for youth. The space will be a hub for youth cultural and community activites, and youth will be involved in the design and development of the site, and eventually in organizing and running activities, such as sports events, arts performances and community programmes in *scape.
The iconic design of *scape has been selected from the *scape design competition 2006. There are more than 5,000 youths voted for their favorite design. Plans are underway to develop the building.

| Young Change Makers |
 |
| Under the Young ChangeMakers programme, young Singaporeans will be trained and appointed to assess and award seed grants to community projects proposed by their peers. The programme provides seed money of up to $3,000 to youth (including informal groups) to try out small projects that will benefit the community. By placing young Singaporeans in a position of responsibility, Young Changemakers seeks to nurture youth leadership and decision-making skills, while supporting a more diverse group of youth in taking the first step to making civic contributions. |
