| People with disabilities have needs which are both similar and different from those of other able-bodied persons. Some can lead normal lives with some adjustments, while others need a higher level of care and assistance. The care and welfare of people with disabilities is everyone's concern. The family, the community and the Government each has a role in helping and integrating them into the community. |

| MCYS works closely with the National Council of Social Service and the voluntary welfare organisations to promote services and programmes for people with disabilities, including day activity centres; sheltered workshops; hostels; homes as well as training and job placement services. |
