Student Care Centres (SCCs)
provide care and supervision to school-going children aged 7 (Primary
1) to 14 years (Secondary 2). It aims to supervise homework, play,
enrichment and recreational activities for school-age children before
or after school to enhance their wholesome development - physical,
intellectual, emotional, social and moral development. SCCs reassure
working parents that their school-going children are well cared for
while they are at work. SCCs usually open from:

7.30am or earlier to 6.30pm

| SCCs are operated
by Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) or commercial operators.
You do not require a licence to operate a SCC. However, if you are
a VWO interested in setting up a SCC as a community service, please

Student Care Fee Assistance (SCFA) is provided for children from families whose household income
is below $2,500 per month.
SCFA is available on a sliding
scale based on household income level. It ranges from $42 to $150
per month per child. It is administered by Community Development
Councils.
