Social Development Unit

Since the inception of SDU in 1984, more than 26,000 members have tied the knot through socialisation programmes and matchmaking services provided by the Unit. SDU was set up in 1984 to change cultural and social mindsets that stand in the way of graduates getting married, and to provide opportunities for graduate singles to meet. Today, up to 2,000 members continue to meet their life partners through SDU and marry.

The Unit aims to:
a) increase singles' awareness of the importance of marriage and family through public education efforts,
b) provide dating opportunities for those who desire to marry, and
c) influence singles’ attitudes in their choice of a spouse.

The Unit offers, through its strategic partners, almost 800 activities a year. In particular, Premier Club Management Pte Ltd organises exciting and interesting events exclusively for SDU members. These provide excellent opportunities for members to interact with other graduates from all professions and hopefully, meet their Significant Other. SDU also offers one-on-one matchmaking programmes like Computer Matchmaking or Table 4 Two.

SDU LoveByte Cafe If you are interested in becoming a member of this dynamic network or if you know of someone who has yet to meet his or her life partner, visit the Unit’s website www.LoveByte.org.sg or email MCYS_SDU@mcys.gov.sg for more information. Non-graduates are encouraged to explore membership with the Social Development Service (SDS) at www.sds.gov.sg
